No matter the time of year, West Virginia is always home to local and regional events that bring locals and tourists alike. However, some of the best events occur during whitewater rafting season; from March until October. These events cover a huge spectrum of activities and interests – so there is something interesting and fun for everyone. Many of these events run over several days, so visitors can spend some of their time on the New River Gorge and some of their time at whichever event they choose!

3/9-3/11: The Greenbrier Quartet Festival

4/26-5/5: New River Birding & Nature Festival
This week-long festival will feature world class speakers and the opportunity to bird watch in the beautiful New River Gorge.
5/25-5/31: Mountain Festival
Exactly what it sounds like, the Mountain Festival is a thrilling event including activities such as a lumberjack contest.
6/6: White Oak Rail Trail Expo
Walk along the Oak Hill trail while it is lined with vendors, music and giveaways!
7/25-8/2: West Virginia State Water Festival
Celebrate the important role that water has played in the history and success of West Virginia.
8/26-8/30: Oak Leaf Festival
Celebrate fall with vendors, quilts, and music and much more!
9/19-9/20: Country Roads Festival
Hosted at Hawk’s Nest State Park, this celebration welcomes fall to the New River Gorge.
10/17: Bridge Day
Bridge Day in the New River Gorge is full of high adrenaline sports, vendors, food and much, much more.
