If you prefer to come inside after a day on the river you could find a hotel, bed and breakfast, or cabin. There are many options available and your rafting outfitter may be able to help you find the best option for your trip.
For those who like camping, the New River Gorge National River has plenty of primitive campsites available. These sites are along the river but have no drinking water available and only a few restrooms. If you are someone who wants a more luxurious camping experience, a private campground may be fore you. Some rafting outfitters even have their own campgrounds just for their customers. With certain rafting companies you can rent a tent on a level platform and not even have to worry about having a tent, the construction or the deconstruction of your tent. They also offer sites for RVs with water and electric hook-ups.
If camping isn’t your thing, you may want to try staying in a cabin. There are plenty of cabins for rent in the area. At River Expeditions you can stay in a number cabins at the same place your rafting trip will leave from. They have a variety of cabins to pick, from the rustic cabin to the luxury cabin so there’s sure to be a cabin to fit your taste (and your budget!!) Finally there are over 3500 hotels and bed and breakfasts in the New River Gorge area. Some outfitters have special deals with nearby hotels so check with them when you start to plan your trip.
